15.2.1 Sustainable Farming

Covenant University engages and trains farmers in local communities on sustainable fish farming practices. These efforts aim to enhance production while minimizing environmental impact.

15.2.2 On-Campus Facilities

The university’s Entrepreneurial Development Studies Department maintains a network of watersheds and ponds for research and training purposes. Students and researchers develop expertise in producing locally grown and processed fish feed, promoting sustainable production and consumption practices.

15.2.3 Community Collaboration

A recent collaboration between Covenant University and farmers in Ota demonstrated the university’s commitment to community engagement. This partnership facilitated knowledge sharing to improve fish farming techniques and sustainability.

Covenant University partners with RCE-Ogun to provide farmers with critical education on weather forecasting and its implications for fish farming, empowering them to adapt to climate changes effectively.
